Flughafen Dusseldorf International in German and DUS
after its IATA code.
Located at a 4.3-miles distance north of downtown
Dusseldorf, it is the largest airport serving the North
Rhine – Westphalia area and the third largest airport in
the country.
DUO Airport is an airline hub for Air Berlin and
Lufthansa, which are the airport’s largest and
second-largest airlines, being able to provide some 300
daily flights to 53 destinations.
Also, the Turkish Airlines is the largest foreign
airline that operates from this airport. As such, DUO
handles a number of about 750 takeoffs and landings
every day, with 70 airlines offering flights to 18

However, the current terminal building has a capacity of
22 million passengers per year.
The Dusseldorf International Airport has three
terminals, which are connected by a central spine:
Terminal A operates with 16 gates; Terminal B has 11
gates and is used mainly for domestic and European
flights, while Terminal C has 8 gates.
